DEEP FRIED BAO WITH YOUR FAVOURITE ICE-CREAM

Serves 2

INGREDIENTS

2 x Bao

Oil for deep-frying

Icing sugar

2 scoops of your favourite ice cream

METHOD

  • Pour enough oil into a small saucepan to shallow fry the Bao. Heat the oil to 170 degrees Celsius.

  • Carefully lower the bao into the oil using a pair of metal tongs.

  • Once the bao are golden on one side turn them over and fry the other side.

  • Remove the bao from the oil and place on kitchen towel to remove excess oil.

  • Dust with icing sugar.

  • Serve with a scoop of ice cream while they still warm.

  • Optional extra : Crush your favourite biscuit/ cookie and sprinkle on-top
